The construction of the new Dalian Conch museum is well underway since its start September,2007. The new conch museum is located in the southeast corner of Dalian Xinghai square and is expected to be completed in July 2008.

The old conch museum will remain normal operation until the new one is completed. According to the local press, the location of the old conch museum is planned to introduce a five-star hotel. The old conch museum which opened in July 2003, has a collection of more than 5000 rare sea shells and is the largest conch museum in Asia.
