Two milu or Pere David's deer, a species that also goes by the odd name of sibuxiang, or "none of the four alike", for its unique features - a horse's face, a donkey's tail, cow-like hooves and a stag's antlers - have been successfully moved to the Dalian Forest Zoo.
It took more than 15 hours for the deer, a species under top State-level protection, to be moved from Beijing to Dalian, Liaoning, on Saturday.
The milu was once an indigenous species of the central swamps of China. About decades ago, the species became extinct in its original habitat. It was not until 1985 that a few of the milu returned to China from abroad.
