The driver of a BMW who hit a 16-year-old cyclist off her bike last Saturday in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, merely restarted his car with the intention of driving off instead of getting out and helping her.
Thirty passers-by, however, blocked his exit from the scene until police officers arrived. "We were not about to sanction the culprit of this the hit-and-run accident by ignoring the plight of his victim," they said. Fortunately, the girl was not seriously injured.
