Basketball brings true love in Shenyang

A newlywed couple from Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, held a special celebration on Monday.

They showed their guests how they first met and fell in love while playing basketball.

Wang Xin, the bridegroom, entered the wedding facility dribbling a basketball. While hip-hop music played in the background, an emcee told the couple's love story.

Years ago, Wang, a top basketball player in his school, met Guang, his future wife, who was then head of a cheering squad, at a basketball competition.

"Since then, we fell in love with each other. We tied the knot today because we both had a fancy for the basketball," he said.

Dangerous bet leads men to scale electric tower

Police from Dalian, Liaoning province, rescued two drunk men who had scaled a tall power-supply tower as a sort of competition.

To rescue the men, cops placed inflatable mattresses on the ground as they guided the men down the tower.

Police later discovered that the men had made a bet with each other to climb the tower, without being aware of any danger they might face.
