The second largest sports stadium located at Tiexi District of Shenyang, a co-host city of the Beijing Olympic Games, was completed on Monday, the Shenyang Daily reports.

With a capacity of 30,000 seats and an area of 140,000 square meters, the Tiexi Stadium was built in just two years.

At a cost of 200 million yuan, the facility ranks second to the 60,000-seat Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium, which will serve Olympic football preliminary competitions in August.

The Tiexi Stadium has been designed as a back-up facility for the Olympic venue. Equipped with cold-resistant turf, the Tiexi Stadium has a complete set of facilities, including athletes' lounge, showers and meeting and press conference rooms as well as a media zone. The stands are furnished with high-quality chairs. A large electronic display screen measuring 152 square meters catches everybody's eyes.

Outside the stadium there is a parking lot for 3,000 cars and a green space of 50,000 square meters.
