A major earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale rocked southwest China's Sichuan Province at 2:28 p.m. Monday, May, 2008. The energy that the earthquake released was so big that many parts of China even felt the quake. The death toll caused by the earthquake has exceeded to 41,353 people, and the number is still rising now. Nearly 274,683 people were injured and more than 32,666 people were disappeared according to the report of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. Many cities and counties were razed to the ground by the heavy earthquake, and lots of people became homeless. They are the people who are in dire need of the help of others. Therefore, lots of donations are urgently needed from home and abroad to help the victims to get through the natural disaster. On one hand, many supplies like quilts, tents, non-perishable food, drinking water, medicine are needed; on the other hand, the donations like cash and blood are also welcomed.

Blood donation:
There are three places in Shenyang for blood donation. The blood donor center is located near the Shenyang Chest Hospital; the other two centers are distributed in Zhongjie Street and Beihang Street. You can also go to the mobile blood collecting vehicles at the commercial centers.
