2008 China Shenyang Lantern Fair kicked off on January 30, 2008 at Shenyang World Horticulture Exposition. Up to 3000 lanterns were lit up at the same time. It was quite a spectacular scene, with the lights illuminating large areas of the dark and cold evening.

To greet the Olympic games, a giant color lantern with 5 Olympic rings was built at the main entrance to the garden. All tourists to the garden will be surrounded with the Olympic atmosphere.

According to the organizer, a series of activities including Er Ren Zhuan performance, acrobatics and photography competition will be held during the lantern fair.

The entrance ticket price to the lantern fair remains 20 yuan same as of last year.
