Laotian Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh arrived in Beijing Wednesday afternoon, kicking off a seven-day official visit to China.
As a guest of his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao, Bouasone is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao and Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo, and will hold talks with Wen.
This is Bouasone's first official visit to China since taking office in June, 2006.
Besides Beijing, Bouasone will also visit Liaoning, Hunan and Yunnan provinces.
Prior to his China trip, Bouasone told Xinhua in an exclusive interview that his visit is aimed at further implementing the various agreements reached between the two countries' leaders, and exploring concrete measures for further enhancing and consolidating bilateral friendly and cooperative ties.
