August 8, 2007 marks a one-year countdown to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. To greet the Beijing Olympic games and call for civilized internet activities, Shenyang has decided to ask all internet bars to offer free use of internet for all patrons, for half the day on the morning of August 8.

According to an official in Shenyang, there are more than 1200 internet bars across the city.
