A completely paralyzed 5-year-old girl from Boston was brought to Shenyang by her mother with the last hope of saving her in the city.

"She sufferes from an extremely rare disease in the world since she was two. She can’t move, talk and has suffered from frequent convulsions. There is no cure for the disease in Britain. We hope doctors here will help my girl." The girl’s mother told the reporter from Huashang Morning Post yesterday.

According to a doctor, there were only six reported case in Britain and two in China. It took three years to diagnose the girl’s disease. They know from the internet that Shenyang PLS No 463 hospital developed a stem cell therapy for injured motor neurons when they were in despair. Last week, the girl was admitted to PLA 463 hospital and received an autologous stem cell transplant last Wednesday.

The girl has made good progress after the operation. “She can shake my hands and response to my calling efforts.” the doctor in charge said. “The girl will receive three more transplant operations over next one month. It is too early to say the final result because there used to be no cure for the disease. But we will try our best and we hope to create miracle.”
