The Chinese military commenced professional training for 22 women at an aviation academy affiliated with the air force base in Shenyang, provincial capital of Liaoning province on Monday, the People's Liberation Army Daily reported.

These trainees will make up the Chinese military's first team of women fighter pilots and China's first group of women cosmonauts will be selected from among them.
